Where Romance Comes to Bloom and Flourish!

Review 4 – Antiquity Gardens

Filed under: Restaurant in SL — opalproctor at 6:08 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2009

The Antiquity Sims are a remarkable roleplaying sims based on the 1800’s which are made up of  participates whom choose to be connected through their own sims and homes to the rules and code of this wonderful place. One of these places is open to the public to enjoy and partake in which lends it to romance in all of itself.

Yes, the Antiquity Gardens, created and owned by Asia Connell, is the very description of romance as well as solitude. You land in a warm and inviting bridge which then opens up to a multitude  of plants, overhanging trees, and semi hidden areas for one to talk softly to the one they love or getting to know, or to find a few moments to talk to your friends without the interruption of Sl life around you.

This is also a great place to take  photographs for the many fountains, a great ship moored off one of the docks in the background as well as the tea room inviting all to enjoy the bounty. Yes, this would be not just a romantic couple’s dreams but also one who has an eye for beauty behind the camera.

Ms. Connell has done a great task in enhancing the beauty and romance of Antiquity, but also add a flare to SL itself. It is rare when a garden like this offers so much without the heartache of running into an avatar every step or a rent a home or skybox. This is a great hidden place for all those whom wish to enjoy its beauty and create or enhance their own romantic life in SL.  Come visit a little piece of heaven in an 1800’s garden by yourself, with your friends, or a few quiet moments with your loved one.

Review 3 – Cin Cin Island

Filed under: Uncategorized — opalproctor at 11:58 am on Monday, September 7, 2009

Cin Cin, the romantic isle of amore, is a wonderful sim chocked full of so many different avenues it is hard to explain them all in great detail. It appeals to all types of people and couples out there. From the social butterflies to the quiet, secretive lovers, this island will embrace them all.

For those beach goers, you have a great area to dance, surf, and sunbath with each other. There is even a board for local champion surfers. You guys should come out and try your skills or just show off for each other.

Now, if you are a movie buff then we have a drive in movie for you with old cars that support single poses (for those who are on their first few dates) or cuddle poses for you to curl up and watch the movie together (or maybe not /winks)

If you are looking for a semi private dance area or a place to sit and chat without the hype of people all around you, there are two locations on each side of the island that you can claim your spot to dance with that special someone or sit on a bench and just chat away the day. This is a great way to spark a flame or to reconnect.

For those very private moments, you can find a few couple balls under these waterfalls as well as in the bathtub that overlook the bay. Yes, you are still open to the public (which means you need to keep it keep it in ims), but you can steal  a few kisses or two.

To top it off, you can go from beach to snow in a matter of hopping over the mountain. Yes, you can skate on Cin Cin as well as enjoy the beach. There is also an igloo that you can take over with you and your loved, because inside is a hot tub! Again, it is in public everyone.

However, if you just want to get the whole picture, there is a place you can get your own free handglider and sail lover the whole island to find your favorite spot. A very peaceful experience indeed.

What I would like to try however is the new swan couple boat that now floats off the edge of the sim. Now that looks romantic, but it was occupied when I came by last.

So, take a few moments and check out this island as well as what it has to offer and then bring your sweety back with you. The only thing they do ask in the description is no children allowed.

Number 2 Review – The Blue Note

Filed under: Uncategorized — opalproctor at 12:07 pm on Sunday, August 30, 2009

:)

The Blue Note has been around longer than people have even heard of Second Life. With its first appearance in 2005 on the Mina sim, Naydee McGettigan has stressed the romance of SL in so many forms. With her traditional DJ schedule on Saturdays from 6:30 pm slt to midnight which she DJs herself, the Cool Cat exclusive group shows up on a regular bases to rock out the blues, big band, jazz, swing, and more. I personally have been a Cool Cat for a long period of time when I first appeared on the SL scene in 2006, but with my own regular schedule of events and Arbor things, I don’t get off my sim.

However, as I started this blog, my first thought was to the Blue Note since it is a place where a lot of my own personal events happened there. With its own sim named the Blue Note, large and unique dance floor, exclusive invite only stores, Naydee’s own furniture and gift shop, and semi private dance and cuddle place, I believe makes the best romantic sims to find someone special, kindle a flame that is a spark, or to keep the embers going.

Appearing back on the scene once more in so many months to take pictures and to refresh my memory of what the sim had to offer, I was pleasantly surprised to find that many things have changed. I shouldn’t be surprised since Nay is like me and likes to change things up. Keep the major elements in place, but to move things around to keep the regulars coming back and exploring what the sim has to offer.

I was taken aback by the lovely heart shaped island, the butterfly pavilion, a beach to lie with your friends and partners, and even a hide away place I am not spilling out just yet. :) I do love the complimentary lover’s walk you can use to explore things as well. I also found a whole another sim that is in development. I would have been sneaky and explored, but I do not condone looking without permission. It is one of my pet peeves to being with. :)

I did the honorable thing and looked at Nay’s picks and found out the sim is called Cape Blue and will be the new area for all the Cool Cats to roam around as well to be the new shopper’s paradise galore. MMMMM maybe I should talk to her about a café/bakery idea. :P

If you ever want a great experience and you love the blues, rock, jazz, and more I would check out her own personal event on Saturdays from 6:30 to about midnight. Also, she seems to have two other regular events on Mondays with Bigjack from 7 pm to 10 pm and on Wednesday (which are for the romantics) with DJ Kaa from 7:30pm to 10:30 pm.

They usually request formal wear, but all are really welcomed as long as they follow the rules which are posted at the door. :) All are reasonable and quite common sense in a classy place like this.

Take a look below with all the pictures. :)

Number 1 Review with Golden Masquerade

Filed under: Uncategorized — opalproctor at 2:14 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2009

Golden Masquerade is a wonderful gardens built by Thorn Witrial and Bobo Rosselsprung, whom are not only partners in SL  as well in business, but also with these gardens. Now, when I first went to check it out, Thorn greeted me so warmly and welcomed me to show me around, but with my laggy viewer I had to decline for the night.

Now, I am usually very wary to a gardens tied to a store or a mall, but when I came back the next night, I was completely blown away. (You will have to look at the pics below!) The gardens and waters of this lovely corner of SL is a piece of Avalon and/or Elvin Heaven. I had to don my own fae outfit to get the real feeling.

As I traveled around this little delicate scenery, I found several places for couples to escape to a semi private area to just enjoy each other’s company or to steal away for a few affectionate kisses. Now, the night before Thorn suggested putting the environment on sunset, which I did. It was quite romantic, but evening midnight is absolutely breathing taking.

Winging my way around, I found gondolas for couples to lie back and float around, a leaf gondola to float around softly around an island, semi private islands to cuddle on, and oh a crystal like dance floor to glide across with your loved one in your arms. An Intan system is available for all to take part in.

I enjoyed everything on top; so, I decided to sneak down in the water and found an underwater delight for lovers and merfolk alike. Now, knowing I have a love for the fae, I also had mermaid avatar. I swam around and found a lovely cove that appeared to be a ballroom for merfolk and others alike. I was right when I found dance balls for both.

Now I came back topside and found hot springs to enjoy on your own or with a partner. I believe there are more to explore in this all so quiet area of SL and I was correct. After talking to Thorn, I found out there is a private, hidden room in the gardens, but I am not telling where it is (snickers) I am going to let you explore it on your own.

There was only one suggestion I had for Thorn, which is something he can take and leave since it is his garden, but I believe a few more couple poses and animation poses might be great around the corners of the gazebos. He agreed and thought about putting a few more out. This would be a great photo ops too! I would strongly suggest going to seeing this beautiful garden and find all it has to offer.

Please don’t dismiss it as being a ploy to get into the store for it stands on its own two feet! I say well done to Thorn and Bobo! J I will be coming back with Den for sure!

Before I start our weekly feature of the romantic spots in SL, I thought to mention that we will be having a lovely brunch (new menu) on Aug 29th at 11;oo pm slt to 12:30 pm slt at the Arbor.  There will be stars floating in the sky while piano and violin music play all around you.   It will be a great way to start your weekend off with a loved one, family, and/or friends.

The place has limited seating due to the fact I want to keep lag down in the general area.   I am only accepting 20 people for brunch.  The cost is only 100L per couple or 150 for 4 people.

Please go here to request tickets asap   www.thearborsl.com

Oh, also I have our new dining area gift certificates available for a  reduced price.  Every other day I change the selection out.  They range from 600 to 850 for the gift certificate!   However, you can get them as low as 300.  Go to this surl..find the board…and touch it…it will go down to 50L.   Bring in your friend to touch it and the price will go down 50L each time until 300.  Get a dinner for you or a friend as a gift.  This happens for a limited time.  Do it now!

What Is This All About?????

Filed under: Uncategorized — opalproctor at 12:10 pm on Monday, August 17, 2009

Well, as I sat back and looked at all the blogs about SL, I found fashion, clubs, adult forums, individuals, and more, but nothing too much about romance!  So  I decided since a lot of my SL life is dealt with the romance of the SL world, I tought  “Why Not?”

So, this blog will not be just about the Arbor, but of the other places one might see in SL that will be of interest   This way the Arbor clients, visitors, and even strangers can find more in SL.   The places might not be the most popular places, but sometime the best places are the quiet corners that couples can sneak away to, dance the night away in privacy, and more.

So, if you are an owner of an romantic place or you know someone who owns a romantic spot that is your favorite then please leave me a comment here so I can visit and write a review.  Please know that my reviews are honest and will be posted without review.   I believe we have our own opinions and this blog will reflect my own.  :)

I will also provide a place for the link/picture for those I review.  So, come check back here often and see who I am reviewing and how you can get to their place for you own review.  :)

Thank you for your support as always
